Boulder, Co

Arrived in beautiful Boulder, CO. Waited few hours for the FEDEX man to arrive but all's good. Bike's all loaded, REALLY not looking forward to the monster hills on day 1 tomorrow. Looking at 35-40 miles for final destination in Rocky Mountain national park. The wind was unreal today so better not have any tomorrow or I'm coming home.

Meeting up with Neil and Holly tomrrow for dinner inEstes park since they are in town for a wedding.

Can't frickin wait to get this trip going!! got some grocery shopping to do tonight and dinner and hopefully I can sleep betterthan last night. Did some socializing in the way off too much wine.

Anyhow, till nexttime.

Good luck! Day 1 has started for you by the time you read this. I'm thinking good thoughts and praying the wind goes away so you can't complain to me about that as I know you will already be crying to me about the pain!
Love you and good luck.
(1 day down, now only 4 weeks and 6 days left until you come home!) :-)
Love you-
Jum

Brother, you arent giving yourself much of a warmup. Dont forget to stretch! Do that bicycle exercise that Mom does every morning - maybe that might help. My guess is that you will be a little sore.

Looked at the elevation of your route over the next couple days. Estes is at 7500 ft and then looks like you be uphill on Trail Ridge Rd to about 12000+ ft over the next day or two. I sincerely hope that you already know this. Got to give you credit when you decided to do this - you arent going the easy route.

Eat protein and carbs, and Wheaties for breakfast. Tylenol for headaches, Mydol for cramps.

Good luck!
