After 60ish miles yesterday and my ass completely on fire, decided to quit in the decently sized city of Rexburg. Now that the knees are no longer a problem, the backside now may sideline this trip if I can't come up with something. Stopped by the only bike shop in town and tried a few of their saddles since at this point, anything would be better than the one I have been currently using until I can get my original saddle shipped from home. So we'll see once again...Why does this have to be so difficult? i just want to ride my bicycle for crying out loud!!!
So now rode to nice little Howe through the Idaho desert, flat as a pancake. I mean flat and nothing around but wee bitty towns like this one. Walked into the store in town and talked to one of the 20 townies who live here and sent me over to the little park for the night.
Got one more day I think in the flatlands and then start climbing up into the Sawtooth mountains towards Sun Valley, the popular celebrity ski resort.
I did say flat right? and nothing around but brush

This was my lunch spot in Mud lake, ID...great Poh Boy! Been starting to eat big lunches to help me fight through the afternoon wind.
Tomorrow, I'll be going through a place called the Craters of the Moon...volcanic stuff, ice caves, I guess. Should be nice to break up the trip. Tomorrow night should be spent in Carey, ID...70ish miles.

Shaun,
Try some of this butt paste. http://www.buttpaste.com/BLButtPaste.php I actually rode on the same float with Mr. Butt Paste at Mardi Gras. Slap on some butt paste and you'll be good to go.
Tried to help you out by looking for some beer festivals along your route - just to give you a little carrot. Found one in Portland July 18-20th. I think that is your last couple days on your way into Seattle, right? I know its not on your planned route, but might be worth checking out anyway.

FOund something perhaps better but thanks. Taking a day off near Sun Valley so that will help.
That's the weekend I am supposed to be in Seattle. Is it in Portland or Seattle?
the link says Seattle, but if you go to the link, its Portland.
